We organize this two day excursion from Hurghada to Cairo privat. A competent English-speaking Egyptologist with a comprehensive knowledge of the history of Egypt accompanies you throughout the trip as your guide,

1 day

Enjoy the drive from Hurghada to Cairo in an air-conditioned vehicle on a beautiful route along the Red Sea and through the imposing desert of Egypt.

Once in Cairo, visit the Saqqara Necropolis. Here is the most famous and oldest pyramid in Egypt, the step pyramid of King Djoser. The museum of the master builder of the Imhotep step pyramid is shown below. You will have lunch in a local restaurant, which is characterized by high quality service, cleanliness, hygiene and delicious specialties.

Afterwards, visit one of the seven wonders of the world, the famous Cheops pyramid and the pyramids of Chephren and Mykerinos. Experience a fantastic view from the plateau and visit the great Sphinx of Giza. Before you check into your 5-star hotel, visit the Chephren Valley Temple. Before dinner you have the opportunity to admire the sound and light show on the pyramids. End the day with a relaxing stay in your hotel.

2 day

You will leave the hotel in the morning for breakfast. You drive to the east bank of the Nile in Cairo. There you will first visit the Citadel of Saladin with the Alabaster Mosque by Mohamed Ali. From the citadel you have a very nice view of the whole city.

Visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM)

We continue our journey and visit the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). With its 81,000 m² of floor space, the GEM is the largest archaeological museum in the world. The museum opened on November 1, 2025, and has been open to the public since November 4, 2025. A large number of the collection items come from the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. The main attraction is the almost complete display of the grave goods of King Tutankhamun, which could never be fully displayed in the Egyptian Museum due to lack of space. Then take lunch.

In Old Cairo, visit the Al-Azhar Mosque (AD 972) and El Moaz Street (founder of the city of Cairo 969 AD), the oldest street in the city. A visit to the Khan el-Khalili Bazaar in the old town of Cairo and a photo break in the Dead City round off the day. Then drive back to Hurghada.

Best excursion ever

I have been booking my excursions with Zakharious-Tours for years, whether from Hurghada or another resort. The excursions are always well organized, fun and very informative. The prices are cheap, you get a high quality delivered. Always my pleasure.
A little tip for tours to Cairo and Luxor: Always choose the 2-day option. It is more relaxed and not so strenuous.

We booked the dolphin tour to Samadai reef. Dolphins in the wild. There were 2 big dolphin families who didn't want to move on. Perfectly. Already with the speed boat on the high seas is a great experience. We just had to let ourselves go, everything went as discussed or better still as promised. RECOMMENDED
