Experience a dolphin excursion from Makadi Bay away from mass tourism. Visit two of the most beautiful snorkeling spots in Egypt, Shaab El Erg el Sakhair and Shaab El Erg al Kabair, both reefs visited by only a few boats. Enjoy the tranquility of nature on this long boat trip. Have fun in a small group, enjoy a hearty breakfast and a delicious lunch.
We will pick you up from your hotel in Makadi Bay at 6 a.m. and drive to the port in Hurghada in an air-conditioned vehicle. It is still quiet in the harbor and you can already start to enjoy the peace and quiet here. There are a maximum of 10-15 people on board, so there is plenty of space for everyone to relax. After a short briefing, you head out to sea and start a half-hour journey north to Shaab El Erg el Sakhair. Our Boat located just 30 minutes away from Shaab El Erg.
Shaab El Erg El Sakhair is located north of Hurghada, about 1.5 hours by boat, away from mass tourism and is a dolphin house, a home for dolphins. The extensive, horseshoe-shaped reef opens to the south and reveals a shallow lagoon. The small channel between the reefs is passed through several times a day by the dolphins that live there.
Since Shaab El Erg El Sakhair is only served by a few boats, you can enjoy the peace and nature to the fullest here. You swim with the dolphins as long as you like. The crew will have snorkeling equipment ready for you. If you meet a dolphin, do not touch it or swim towards it. Swim parallel to the dolphins and keep your distance. Dolphins are very curious. They usually come closer to touch you and maybe even start playing. Dolphin therapy is included here.
Please note that the crew is very careful and will disturb the dolphins as little as possible. That's why she won't try to follow a pod of dolphins or stop them from swimming away. The animals are also not fed.
Then continue north to Shaab El Erg al Kabair. On the way there you can watch the dolphins from the boat. In Shaab El Erg al Kabair you can see a variety of fish such as nosefish, angelfish, snappers and turtles among the corals. You can take wonderful underwater photos on both reefs. Of course, we will visit two more snorkeling spots that are not overcrowded with tourists before you return to your hotel in Makadi Bay.
During the summer we offer a sunset tour on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. You start this tour at 6 a.m. and return to your hotel around 7 p.m. In the afternoon the children get ice cream, later there is a barbecue for everyone on board and you experience a wonderful sunset on the water. The additional charge for the sunset tour is €15 per person. for adults and €10 per person for children.
