Your exclusive private Day tour begins with us picking you up from your hotel early in the morning in an air-conditioned vehicle. You drive for about 4 hours through the desert and through the Nile Valley, past farmers' houses and fields. You will gain insights into the culture and history of ancient Egypt from a qualified Egyptologist.
Once in Luxor, drive to Karnak Temple. Admire the largest temple complex in Egypt with a variety of obelisks, hypostyle halls and ornate halls. Your tour guide will explain the individual buildings and the complex religious rituals to you.
After a hearty lunch at a local restaurant, enjoy a boat trip on the Nile. Watch the animals living on the Nile and the farmers working in the fields and enjoy the landscape from the water. Your guide will then take you to the Colossi of Memnon. They are the last remains of the Temple of Amenhotep III. and represent this.
Another highlight is the Valley of the Kings with its underground burial chambers of the pharaohs. The magnificent and mostly well-preserved wall paintings depict life in the afterlife. Your guide will explain the meaning of the many different hieroglyphs and symbols in three different tombs.
At the end of your trip to Luxor, explore the mortuary temple of the first pharaoh Hatshepsut. The Temple of Hatshepsut is a terraced temple complex and a masterpiece of Egyptian architecture. Afterwards you will drive back to your hotel in Sahl Hasheesh.
