At the end of your tour you will see the Mortuary Temple of Ramses III, which is also located on the western bank of the Nile. Medinet Habu is one of the best preserved temples in Egypt. Its name comes from the old word for ibis, the symbol of the god Thot, whose Ptolemaic temple is a few hundred meters south.
